| PDCAxx-100-GS is a GaAs photodiode array with a dual-pad layout and an optical aperture with a diameter of 100 μm allowing easy coupling to multi-mode fibers. An array consists of a number of scalable 1 x 4 cells. The basic 1 x 4 cell is designed such that the photodiode pitch of 250 μm is maintained over the cell border. In that way, 1 x 8 and 1 x 12 arrays consist of 2, respectively 3 such basic cells. The top-illuminated p-i-n photodiode structure offers an excellent responsivity and high speed of response in the wavelength region from 830 to 860 nm. Pad metallization optimized for both wire-bonding or soldering is available so that the arrays can also be used in flip-chip bonding assemblies. The devices target short reach 850 nm VCSEL based, high-speed parallel optical interconnects up to 5 Gb/s per channel. Each photodiode has a low capacitance and achieves full speed at a bias voltage of only 2 V. |
